The Dashboard feature in Mac OS X Lion doesn’t bother us a bit. Dare we say, we actually like it. But we’ve heard from more than a few that they simply find it annoying. If you’re in the second group, then this is the post for you: how to get rid of the Dashboard as a space.

TheNextWeb.com shows how easy it is:

Just go to System Preferences > Mission Control and deselect “Show Dashboard as a space” and you’re done.

There you have. Simply gone. But, seriously, is it that bad?

It’s really not bad, but it’s really not that good. Apple has pushed forward so many new innovations and ways to make the desktop experience so much better, but they left good ol’ dashboard behind. There has been no new innovations to it since it was practically introduced.

I like widgets as much as the next person, but they are so clunky and hard to find. Apple needs to indoctrinate them into the AppStore (FINALLY) and open up a more sensible API in Xcode.
